Clara Jane Timmerman
Clara Timmerman is the Assistant Director of the Arkansas County Library in Stuttgart, where she has worked in some capacity for 20 years. Initially, she started there to work on her own family history for her grandmother. She became interested in genealogy by listening to her grandmother’s stories about coming to Arkansas on a covered wagon and their trials and tribulations.
She worked on her family history while homeschooling her children until they went to college. She also cared for her grandmother and mother until their passing.
While she was a manager at the library, the children’s wing was expanded and allowed for much more programming. She was able to start one of the first robotics classes for 3rd and 4th graders in Arkansas. She incorporated and implemented the automation of the library and has been blessed to see it grow in excellence and meaning for her community for these many years.
