Free Zoom Presentations
If you are the program chairperson of a local genealogical or historical society, AGS is now offering a new service crafted especially for you and your organization. It is a list of topics and AGS speakers who are available to share free selected genealogical lectures with your organization through an internet Zoom connection. These lectures cover a wide selection of Arkansas genealogy topics. For a list of the topics and additional information, click here. Check back periodically since new topics may be added.
1950 Census Released To Public On April 1, 2022
The federal government conducts a census every ten years. Initially, only summaries are released to the public. The full information, listing individuals, is kept private for 72 years. However, the release only contains images of the pages. Many many volunteers have been organized to transcribe the hand-written pages. It is expected that these transcripts and a full index will be available in a few months.
Outreach Committee
AGS recognizes that there are some local clubs in the state that are struggling to survive due to the pandemic and other issues. We would like to help. If you are in such a club or know of one, please let us know by writing to outreach@argensoc.org.
