Josephine Hardy
Josephine Hardy, an Australian expatriate residing in Northwest Arkansas since 2014, brings a diverse background of expertise to AGS. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Melbourne. Her professional journey began in Fayetteville, where she embarked on a career in content marketing, starting with a local startup, DataRank. Josephine later founded InboundMate, a marketing consultancy specializing in helping small to mid-sized businesses with brand positioning and audience engagement.
Josephine’s passion for genealogy is deeply interwoven with her professional skills. She runs Family Tree Historian, an educational resource dedicated to Italian genealogy. In 2021, she authored “The Sulfaro Family,” a book chronicling five generations of Sicilians through epidemics, war, and immigration, starting in the Province of Messina, Sicily. Her work provides insightful narratives on global migration and the experiences of leaving everything behind.
Since 2021, Josephine has been the editor of the Northwest Arkansas Genealogical Society’s (NAGS) quarterly publication, The Backtracker. She has also taken it upon herself to utilize her marketing skills to promote NAGS through social media posts, and developing their website. In 2024, she assumed the position of Vice President on the NAGS board. Josephine’s blend of marketing insight, writing talent, and genealogical passion positions her uniquely to contribute significantly to AGS’s growth and outreach.
